Sandman
by Jason Bloom
Sandman is a cadence written by one of my former students, Jason Bloom. Jason is currently a member of the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps, performing on snare. He was a WGI finalist in Independent Open Percussion with Stryke Percussion for three years, and works with several schools in the South Florida area. Jason was heavily involved with the percussion ensembles of J.P. Taravella High School, receiving many superior ratings for solos and ensembles, performing at the Bands of America National Concert Band Festival as a member of the JPT Wind Orchestra, and also serving as section leader for the marching percussion for two years. This cadence was originally written for the JPT Percussion, and is an inventive and catchy cadence that your students will enjoy playing.
